Amazon Credit Card

Ok so I am completely new to this always stuck with debit and refused to even bother getting into credit (had a lot of family members get in sticky situations)

I'm looking at applying for an amazon credit card as I see you get £5 back and also get points for spending on it.

I have some fairly large purchases coming up over the next year or so (new car, hefty insurance) but have saved up the money for them so I was wondering:

1) Is amazon the best to go for, I do often shop on amazon but if there is a better reward I will use that card instead.

2) Are there ways I can put the money from my bank account straight onto the card so in my mind I am simply replacing my debit card and only spending money I have, thus not incurring interest.
I can transfer money onto the card if needs be but would prefer it to be automatic.

3) I assume that so long as I pay the card straight away there is no interest no matter how long I keep the card for (i.e after a year of having it I wont have to pay interest on any purchase regardless if I pay it straight away or not)

Sorry if that last one didn't make sense and for being a complete newbie but I guess that's what this forum is for.

It's simple, spend whatever you normally spend in a month on the credit card. Then when the statement arrives, pay the full balance off. If you follow this method, you will never be charged any interest. If this is what you intend to do, then the actual APR of the card doesn't matter since you won't be paying it. What matters is the money you will earn in rewards. Amazon card isn't one of the best, but it depends what reward you would find the most useful. If you shop with Amazon a lot, then it may be for you. Never put your own money on the card and create a positive balance. It's a big no no and can get you in trouble with the CC provider. Plus, there is absolutely no point in doing it since as long as you pay it in full, you will never be charged interest.

I run my credit cards like that and pay off the full balance (except for £5 or so) about 10 days before it is actually due. The last £5 gets collected automatically by Direct Debit.

If you have never had credit before I doubt you'll get the Amazon card - it's prime credit underwritten by Bank of America... good luck with that!
