Daughters brand new Superdry coat ripped!

Options
As the title says really. DD hung it up and the tag has ripped right out of the lining. It looks like it was only on by two threads. She only got the bliddy thing yesterday for her birthday :(.
What do you think my chances are on getting them to replace or repair it?

There shouldnt be a problem - only one day after purchase and the coat has a problem! they should either offer to replace or repair it - up to you which you are happy with! But, I would be going over that coat with a magnifying glass! check all seams are securely stitched and any loose threads - give them a tug to ensure they are secure!
Those coats are not 'cheap' you shouldnt have had this prob and I am sure the retailer will be happy to replace or offer a repair.
  • I agree, take it back...not fit for purpose.

I really hope they do take it back. It's annoying, I'll have to do a 30 mile round trip to return it though. That's a whole day gone. I'll ring them tomorrow and see if they will allow me to return by post and post me another one. Cheaper than driving up to the shop. We bought it on the 10th but she only got it yesterday so it's been folded up in the bag since then.
I wouldn't expect a £75 coat to break the 4th time it's hung up. Grr!

Is the tag designed to hold the weight of the coat?

It's a really thick tag almost like you'd have on the handles of a shopping bag so, yes, I would say it is. However, the stitching isn't strong enough. On close inspection, 1 thread used. Hmmmph.

    Isn't that what it's for? :)

  • I am sure shop will change it fine. Sadly they are expensive to buy because of name not because of quality of garment!

I have spoken to them on the phone and the lovely young lady told me which part of the web page to go to to print out a returns label so that I can post it to them rather than drive back to the shop. Let's just hope it all goes smoothly from there. Phew, good customer service so far superdry!
