simple question ,will blueray dvds play in normal dvd player ,without enhancments...son has a lot of blueray,s but I have old fashioned dvd player 3 years old.

The short answer is no.
The clue is in the name - Bluray uses a blue laser whereas a DVD player uses a red one so it's unlikely it could even read the disc, let alone decode it.
Some titles come with a DVD copy on the disc as well though, so you might be lucky.0 -
Blu rays won't play on a DVD player as mentioned.
But DVD's will play on a blu-ray player (because the blu-ray plaer is more advanced so it's backwards compatible).
As has been mentioned some Blu-rays come with a DVD in a double or triple play package.0
