    Dundee Cake

All dependent on whether they have a sweet or savoury palate and whether you are posting or hand delivering.
Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.
  • Black bun for Hogmanay? It's the 7th day of Christmas.
  • I live in Switzerland and would love this!

Assuming you are hand delivering, I would suggest:
    - English cheeses
    - some sort of chutney
    - proper pickled onions (not silverskin!)
    - cranberry sauce
    - English sausages to wrap in bacon for Xmas dinner

If you are making mince pies in Germany, you may also need to take your own flour (depends on your recipe).

For Xmas we bring back mince meat and mini Xmas puddings as well as brandy sauce but we will be in the UK for Xmas this year.

Non Xmas things we miss and stock up with when we're home if you're looking for general ideas are:
    - fruit pastilles (Europe seems to think sugar coated must mean sour!)
    - galaxy chocolate
    - HP sauce
    - custard
    - yorkshire tea
    - Branston pickle

  • I use plain flour for my pastry I assumed you would be able to buy that there?

I am also takeing bacon and black pudding as everyone who goes over has to take it.

We are flying out so will be taking it with us. It just needs to be able to be able to go in a suitcase for a few hours.

They sell Heinz baked beans in my husbands nearest Edeka so probably don't need to take those with you

    What about dates...
Its only in the last few years we stopped getting a box of them at Christmas! They were one of those things we always had when my nanna was alive! along with those jellie fruits that have sugar in them.
