NO PAY for undamaged items forming part of a set

read my policy!!!!!!

' Fortress Insurance underwritten by UK General '

We will not pay for the cost of replacing any undamaged items forming part of a set or suite or other article of a
uniform nature, design or colour when damage occurs to a specific part or within a clearly definable area and
replacements cannot be matched.

nice aha , different colour sofa or different kitchen doors colour/design, or it's also correct for your wall / floor Tiles.

should be a law against this. hooo cheap things that will do ... like paint

mmmm.. wallpaper ?! (and if it's expansive? or if its big room only the wall that is damage?)

In the quest to be up in the running on price with on line comparison sites, insurers have cut out a load of what used to be standard extras...basically customers are trying to be money savvy, and go for the cheapest.

Quality insurers that would not normally get a look in on price, have diluted their policy cover to suit the bargain hunters, and appear on the comparison sites.

As a broker, I always liken it to an Aero Bar, looks the same, but the holes are bigger.

You can't have the Gourmet Policy at the Value Brand price.

Sorry, not much help in this instance, but by buying on line you become your own broker.

That's fairly standard in most policies - you get what you pay for - the cover won't pay for a new 3 piece suite if you damage a chair, but they will probably give a contribution towards the cost of the new suite ove rand above the chair cost. Mikey has a good link explaing pairs and sets rulings :)

On the other hand if you want to pay the price to get the cover it is available - but not for £3.50!
