thanks for your tips, i spoked to my local TC agent instore and they managed to honour a price from last week plus not charge me any CC fee! so actually got a better deal than Online (even though online price is a bit lower now!)
Lesson - if you see a good deal online - get the TC agent to match it and save it if you not booking the same day!
Well done, hope you have a great time

Read a piece in a travel mag only today sales are down slightly in the big tour operators shops but up in the independants. I think a lot of it depends on what part of the country you live in and if its a city or town.0

Does that mean that sales are up or down overall across the country,or dont you know? I assumed they were down because of the rise of DIY holidays online and the fact that fewere people are travelling abroad (apparently)0 -

Don't know exact figures over all UK and other high street operators, but DIY is down and packages are up it was said in travel before christmas. Yeh i'm not sure thats true bout fewer people travelling abroad, there's not much of a recession in our shop
perhaps we're just lucky.0 -
I'm not sure whether it's true or not but I have heard that some of these websites track your ip address and can tell how many times you've visited a specific website and a what frequency and as a result they often increase the prices, even just slightly to encourage you to make the purchase before the cost goes up even more! Like I said though, I'm not 100% sure if this actually happens or not?0

Alot of the time it is not actually the price of the holiday that has gone up, but the discount may have gone down. These can change very quickly, there is no pattern, these screens are monitored 24 hours a day. The cookies is definately correct, make sure you delete them when you are visiting sites such as Easyjet, Ryanair, Monarch etc. Take no notice of the press, they never get it right with regards to whether sales of holidays are up or down...ive been in the trade 34 years now & still they get it wrong !0
