I prefer to put the monthly premiums I would otherwise pay into a savings account to spend should I ever need help, or to enjoy at my leisure as I want.
But that may not suit everyone. Some prefer the security they think such insurance provides them (but make sure you read and fully understand all the terms & conditions if that applies to you)
As it's a new boiler, are you sure there is no cover currently in place? e.g. maufacturer's and or supplier's/installers guarantee?0 -
Since new boilers have a manufacturer's warranty of between one and five years (and rarely less than two), what would be the point?
You'd be paying for cover you already have.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
If the new boiler has a warranty of less than 5 years don't buy it. Some now have 7 year cover.
Over the warranty time save the money you would pay on a service plan and once the warranty is expired you have a repair fund of a few hundred quid.0
