Insulating a bedroom - recommendations?

Hi All,
I have a 1 bedroom GF flat. The bedroom has no central heating/storage heater present and is currently heated with a convection panel heater.
On one side of the room is the inner face of the end wall of the block. Another side is a sliding patio-door which was replaced in the spring with a brand new A-grade system. They are hidden with some faux-wood venetian blinds. The floor is a concrete slab with 1x layer of underlay and a carpet.
I knew the room was always cold, but put it down to the ancient patio-door. Having replaced it, i expected the room to be alot warmer in winter. It isn't. It's still deathly cold.
If i leave clothes in a pile on the floor, they feel almost damp with cold by morning.
I'm starting to think of additional insulation options:
Insulation board on the slab?
Foam-filling the void between the bricks/plasterboard on the external wall?
Curtains?
Boarding up the patio doors?
Where to start.....
Any ideas welcome.

Hi, First check for any draughts coming from ill fitting windows, entrance door and where pipes go through walls. Without digging up your floor you can only increase your floor insulation by adding onto your existing underlay. Are your walls cavity or solid ? Have they had insulation pumped into the cavity ?.You really need a good heating system installed, Have you mains gas available ?.A heating system when left on for a couple of days warms the fabric of the house and when well insulated will radiate heat long after the system has been turned off0
