Halifax Bank Charges
Struggling123
Hi All,
This is my first post and just wanted some advice.
I had a Halifax Bank Account and due to financial difficulties it went O/D. I ended up in a cycle of £300 per month charges and over a period of around 6 years this led to approx £7K of total charges.
Whilst struggling financially Halifax continued to snowball my charges making my situation even worse.
Eventually they defaulted the acct at which point i complained.
They did look at the complaint and refunded about £1200, which basically covered the overdraft, which was all made up of charges. They asked at the time if is satisfies by complaint, to which i replied NO.
My issue is. I am still very much struggling still because of all the previous charges and wouldn't be struggling now if I hadn't have had £7K of charges over that period.
Is there anything further I can do about this.
Thanks

What did they do when you told them you weren't happy with their offer ? Did you accept the £1200 ? If this covered your overdraft, how are you still struggling with previous charges ? Refunding an overdraft gives you a fresh start, if you want to take this further you should make another complaint but i can't really see you getting anywhere with Halifax, are they still looking into your complaint or not ?0
