Hi
We have a Zanussi WJD 1667 washing machine which is making a scraping sound and stopping mid cycle
no error codes showing just ---
the machine stops approx 10 minutes into the cycle with drum full
we can restart it after turning the machine off for a while but the problem still persisiting
the filter is clean
anu ideas?

Bearing? Uneven loads (but that should throw an error code)?
Have you tried turning the drum by hand and see if you feel anything untoward.
If it was me I would have the back off it and if I couldn't see anything I think I would be calling the engineer.0 -
hi
yes i have turned it and it turns freely and smoothly - the machine also runs for about 10 minutes before stopping
I will have to take a look to see if i can see anything obvious
thanks for your reply0 -
Stab in the dark but is it heating the water? Again, should throw up an error code but I had a dishwasher that would stop working after 10 mins and didn't give an error code. turned out it was the heating element..0

machine thinks its heating but not so sits there waiting for the water to warm up before moving on.
Try a cold cycle to see if it runs past that.0 -

Last thought (but won't make a sound) water inlet control valve.
If you do find the problem and need a part the manufacturers branded part will be extortionate and you will source much cheaper +70% parts.0
