Scot power price cut

Scottish Power has launched a new 'PriceFall' offer which guarantees that prices will not rise before Nov 2008. Prices are cheaper than current standard prices and the product is available to new customers from 16 April and existing customers from 9 May. The product is available for DD customers in dual fuel or electricity only. Sounds like a disgrace to me a price drop for direct debit customers only

Where did you see this as it isn't on their website? Also, how does this compare with the online saver 3/capped rate till 08 (K)?

You can see this tariff if you visit a comparison site and input your consumption into the dual fuel section.

Compared to energy saver 3 it looks as though the gas price is slightly higher, but the electricity has been slightly reduced.

Overall very little difference when both fuels are calculated.

I do the comparison sites regularly along with all my own "long hand" working out, but not seen anything with "price fall." In fact one or two of them are not even showing the Scottish Power Capped rate til May 08 (K version) on some of them. Seems the old fashioned way of doing it by hand is the best:-)

I found it on energylinx - you need to look at the dual fuel comparisons.

Thanks. I have just checked SP Website again and it is finally there. It wasn't last night so maybe they got wind of our complaints:-) Just checking now to see how it compares with my current rate

sorry about the price cut message i intially thought it was for everyone so effectively a bit of a typo. Everyone is eligible though i believe the are promoting internally quite strongly to existing customers to get them on direct debit though i presume

sounds like a disgrace to me that is available to new customers again before existing customers, this is info ive had from scottish power as part of their response to my complaint about existing customers being left on more expensive variable rate tariffs than has been offered to new customers

Online Energy Saver 3 tariff has been available since the 5th of April ( southwest prices)
This is only available on the standing charge tariff
Electricity prices - 13.26p per day standing charges and 8.201p per kwh
Gas prices - 9.99p per day standing charges and 1.998p per kwh

The 9th May 2007 will see the launch of our "price fall" product for existing customers.

The prices on this are cheaper than our current standard prices and will fall if the standard prices fall. Also the prices are guaranteed not to rise before November 2008.

When this product becomes available it will be the cheapest Dual Fuel Product on the market.

    prices ( Southwest region)

    No standing charge -
    Electricity 1st 225kwh - 13.289p
    All remaining - 7.912p

    Gas 1st 1143kwh 2.960p
    All remaining 2.163p

    Standing charge tariff
Gas 9.99p per day and 2.163p per kwh

Electricity 13.26p per day and 7.912p per kwh
