Dropbox question...

Options
Hi everyone

Hope it's ok to post this question - it's not exactly about saving money, though it is techie (for me anyway!)

Someone has said they've sent me a dropbox request....I've signed up to dropbox but can't find anything from this person - and it's too late to contact them.....i'd really like to find that stuff and read it tonight - anyone know where I should look?

thanks for reading this! :o

  • You don't need to sign up for it he should have sent you a link in the email to the file(s)

If you want access to a file in someone else's Dropbox account, they'll need to put it in the "Public" subdirectory and then send you the link to it. They can do that by logging in to the Dropbox website, browsing to the file, right clicking and choosing "copy public link" (or something like that) and pasting it in an email. When you click on the link, you'll be prompted to view or open the file.

If they've sent you a referral link, you can use that to sign up to Dropbox yourself, but your Dropbox will initially be empty and you won't have access to your referrer's files.

    Hope that helps...
