IB to ESA support group no medical

Well after just over ten weeks waiting since i put the ESA50 form in,today I received notification that I have been placed in the support group, without having to endure the farcical Atos medical assessment.

I would like to thank the people on this board who have offered invaluable advice.(they know who they are).

There is no mention of timescale for review,so i hope they are taking the sensible option of leaving me to State retirement age in slightly less than three years time.

My health problems are progressive with no hope of improvement so this would be the most reasonable and tax cost effective way to deal with me.

I know many do not get such a good outcome, but heres hoping that DWP and ATOS are coming tho their senses.

Good luck to all those waiting.

Headcone, I see you thanking many posts from many users and this is the first time I've actually seen a post from you yourself (though there has obviously been many going on your post count). Thank you for letting many know that things aren't always so bleak despite how it often looks here. We all know that the 'system' is flawed, usually against those most deserving of it, it's great to see that occasionally it does actually work as it should. :)

    To add somewhat.
I found both my ATOS assessments professional, the staff helpful, and the assessments not unreasonable, given the constraints placed on the assessor by legislation.

The problems I've had from the DWP and tribunals service vastly outweigh any issues with ATOS.

This is not of course to say they are perfect, or other peoples experiences diddn't happen, but for obvious reasons, you tend to get only negative feedback from forums.

i have to afree with roger.
my medical assessment was professional but friendly and at no time did i think that anyone was trying to trap or trick me ...
    in fact the opposite.
she told me to interupt her at any time if i thought she was misunderstanding anything i was telling her.
she read everything she had unput into the computer to me before moving on, so i could be sure that the inormation sent to the DWP was accurate

Hi Parva, the reason I don`t post in this forum is purely that many other posters are much better informed and can offer far better sensible and helpfull advice.

There is also a cabal of rather spitefull benefits bashers who I have no wish to engage with (they know who they are)

I like to think I have more dignity and a little more empathy for my fellow man, especially those who are suffering and being treated so badly by our current government.

I felt it only right and proper after garnering so much helpfull advice, that I post to thank the helpgivers, and also to give hope to others that all is not gloom and doom.

I wish all people affected by the current changes the best of luck.
