I've heard that bookings made through the Marks & Spencer Travel Club will ditch the nil % booking fee benefit which only applied when payment was by an M&S credit card - this change effective 1st December 2012.
The normal 2.5% (?) will be added.
So if you have a holiday booking in mind with them, best get it actioned without delay.
Sadly it's a double whammy hit - the discount offered on Thomas Cook portfolio of holidays drops from 8% to 6% as of same date.
The Travel Club is operated by Thomas Cook on behalf of M&S.
You'll probably get as good a deal via the regular Thomas Cook website - although a credit card surcharge cannot be avoided, only a debit card payment saves you that extra fee.

M&S Bank have finally confirmed in writing that the discount offered by the Marks & Spencer Travel Club, run by Thomas Cook, is now 5%, which is down from 8%.
I was wrong however to state that payments made by an M&S credit card would now incur the 2.5% surcharge that was added to other credit cards. You can continue to pay deposits and balances by M&S credit card without any surcharge.
The Travel Club website is still a dogs dinner when it comes to online bookings - "optional" extras are included as the default package, you have to 'phone the call centre to making a verbal booking without the add ons.
One holiday to Spain I looked at had standard transfers included as an extra (no problem there), plus a taxi @ £98 each way !!!0
