Final suggestion is there is something called a Yorkshire Curd Tart which is similar, if you are anywhere near there?

Prices including delivery are on the high side IMHO, although probably still cheaper than a trip back to Scotland .

Saw these for sale again in Sainsburys today, maybe they are a seasonal product for them? As I have seen them in there around Christmas in previous years.

yes, they seem to be a seasonal item 'down south' - the Taste the Difference mini selection are lovely and they include the effclefechan tarts in it.
