Win 8 LAN problems

Hi. I can't definitely pin this down to the time I installed win 8 but...My ADSL internet connection works fine but I really struggle to connect to the router admin pages (Belkin, 192.168.2.1). The browser just times out, both IE & ffox. Also, I can't see my NAS drive (Iomega) though the odd time I manage to get into the router set up pages, the NAS drive is registered as a client.
I really need to borrow another laptop with win7 or xp to narrow down. Anyone else had issues?
