Land Of Leather - Creation Finance Problem

The company may have gone bust but your finance is with a finance company who will expect payment under the same terms and conditions.0

Land of leather has gone bust? I bought a beautiful leather recliner suite from then in 2007, excellent quality and paid cash for it, got £1200 worth of suite for £650.
And well done to the poster who managed to avoid that ridiculous fee, although you left it too close for comfort in terms of time scale, you were in the right and won your case, well done.
I suspect that it was a deliberate attempt by creation finance to foil any incoming call attempts on that day, they must check to see who is due to pay up on that day and fiddle the phones so people end up paying crazy interest.
Never mind at least they done the right thing and settled the loan.
Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.0 -
i also got a suite last year from land of leather got my bank to pay in full 8 days before it was due next day checked my account and it stated paid in full so it pays to read the small print to pay at least 5 working days b4 special offer date0

it does not matter if the op left it untill 5 minutes before the end of the interest free period to ring and clear the balance they still acted within the terms of the agreement, thank god they had the sense to get the itemised phone bill and insist that the finance company honour the agreement.
It is not the op's fault if the finance company can not manage the simple task of picking up a phone and they certainly should not have to pay £500 because between however many staff they have they couldn't work out how to answer a phone call.
Well done op for standing up to them. :T0 -
Given that the OP posted this more than two years ago, I doubt they're still reading.0

Unfortunately, it is Land of Leather who you need to seek recompense from for faulty goods, not the finance company. You borrowed the money to pay Land of Leather.
As they have gone into liquidation you may be able to join the creditors list, but unlikely you will get much back if anything. However you still need to keep paying Creation Finance. Just as if you had paid with your own money, it's not the finance companies fault a firm you used to spend the money went bust.0 -
The company providing finance is jointly responsible for faulty goods - just in the same way as section 75 for credit cards. Assuming LoL arranged the finance that is.
You should have carried on paying - failure to do so has made your position a lot less clear cut.0
