The change in the personal injury claims sector

I
Couple of factual issues I want to question.
Isn't the Judicial Review on 5th March (Wednesday)? That's what the Law Gazette said.
The changes have been delayed to some extent (even if the JR is unsuccessful). The sub £10k fees change at end of April and the portal extension happens at the end of July.
Doesn't look like the general public has been clamouring to keep the fees where they are or increase them...
No the Judicial review is tomorrow, well the application is and it is mooted that if the application succeeds the hearing starts immediately after that. Confidence is not high though despite the poor conduct of the entire consultation process thus far.
The portal extension is a joke, few claims will remain in there though.
It's not an emotive subject for the public, who have no real interest in the matter, so people won't and haven't got involved.
I'll hand it to the insurance industry, they have made significant advances with lobbying and using the media against a system they have largely influenced themselves.
They will still continue to cut each other's throats though and many will have strategic alliances with factory firms now.0 -

Ah, OK. I missed that, I'm sure it was originally planned to be 5th. I'll have to keep an eye out on the news tomorrow then. I thought it was a "rolled up" hearing so if the application is successful then it definitely does begin immediately.BertTheRaccoon wrote: »They will still continue to cut each other's throats though and many will have strategic alliances with factory firms now.
Well I know Admiral have announced they are setting up something with Lyons Davidson.
As I've said before I would point out that the increase in General Damages was stated as being intended to offset Damages Based Agreements so there is more money available for fees than just the £500 if a DBA is agreed.0 -
Some updates being posted on the law society gazette website
It is a bit perplexing why a motor insurer pays to refurbish a government minister's office....
