Thats it then, game over for the council, they must cancel it, but will probably write to the RK of the vehicle that has that number if it exists. Hopefully they will seek advice etc and appeal itExcel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0 -
yes feel bad for the people which will get the crap to go through. thats why i phoned the council0

Sorry, another question, is it printed or written, and to those with the knowledge of the law surrounding this, does it make a difference if its written or printed in terms of it being incorrect?0

its a printed ticket0

I was wondering, in the case of written tickets if the council can argue that the letter is correct but is just written badly, but I doubt many still hand write them now, the traffic wardens I see have those little hand held things to print the tickets out round here.0

Would not make a difference except if the W was just scrawled a bit by hand and could have looked a bit like an M.
But with a printed ticket there is no debate. The PCN is wasted! :T
There may not even be another car with the W in the VRN where yours has an M, so @foster75, don't fret about anyone else getting a ticket (who would pay a PCN if they'd never been to the street cited anyway which could be hundreds of miles away?!).PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I'm pretty sure that wrong reg on a Council PCN is an automatic fail for the issuer.
Hopefully someone else will be along soon to confirm this is indeed the case.
Confirmed by me - ex CEO.
PCN with wrong reg can't be enforced. Some councils will still try it on and take the cash if you offer it but they have no lawful way to force you to stump up the money.
All CEOs make that blunder at some point (along with many others - like issuing on a Sunday in a Mon-Sat restriction :rotfl:).
I wouldn't bother ringing the council to be honest, they're on a looser.0 -
Echo the above. Wrong VRM is fatal to a PCN. Don't bother ringing again but come back if you get a NTO (notice to owner) drop through your door. Oh, and hang on to the PCN just in case.PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. You should always obtain face to face professional advice before taking any action.0
