Stolen apples...

Came home from work this lunch time to find an empty plastic bag minus the twelve apples that were in there...
Eventually found one under the sofa and one in one of my shoes. No sign of the other ten but there are random pips stuck to my carpet.
Obvious answer is Tyson the 7 year old GSD 'puppy' ate them! I know he likes apples but usually when I give them to him I don't give him the core as I have heard the pips are bad for dogs?
Looking at the evidence I think he must have eaten 10 apples, probably including pips. Is this bad?
I rung the vets but they didn't seem to think it was a problem other than him maybe having an upset tummy later on.

I have never taken the pips out when giving my dog an apple, in fact he has the core whenever I have an apple.
My friends have an apple tree in their garden and one of their dogs always used to pinch fallen apples, he was a Boxer so similar size or probably a bit smaller than yours, never seemed to do him any harm'
I think your vet is right, they would have to eat a lot more pips than that to do any damage, especially as he is such a big dog.0 -
I wouldn't previously have worried, but when he ate my my xmas cake last year and got drunk on it I googled and was shocked to see the list of things that are supposed to be bad for dogs.
I think he must have a pretty strong stomach as he can often eat the most revolting things with no ill effects other than some serious gas0 -
Can't seeing it being an issue. One of my hounds LOVES apples (eats the whole thing)..admittedly not that many but never had a problem

There is cyanide in the pips BUT it will likely stay in the pips and pass straight through since dogs don't really chew anything properly!Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

My hounds have apples including the core most days and I have photos of them helping themselves to very sour crab apples! Its just the quantity that your dog consumed that would worry me rather- not the long term effect 'cos I doubt there would be one.... just the next few hours, days and the pooh picking events!!!Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

So far, everything seems to have been passing pretty normally.
Either he really does have a cast iron stomach or I am in for trouble tomorrow!!
Or... I am totally wrong in my assumption that he ate them, but I can't find any more anywhere0
