going back to work...

well today is the day....i'm going back to work after having my baby. it's horrible, i've been off for 7 months and i really don't want to go back.
we had a really bad night last night, she was up 4 times and at one point i was sat on the floor crying as i was soooo tired, it didn't help that my husband was moaning because he had to be in work at 7am. i really felt like slapping him!
to make it worse i am still breastfeeding and am worried that my milk will dry up.
wish me luck peeps coz i'm gonna be a wreck later.

Really feel for you as I'll be in the same position myself 7 weeks today (yes I'm counting the days!) when I go back to work. My DS will be 12 months but the thought of leaving him is difficult.
I'm still breastfeeding but think it will be down to morning and evening feeds by then so should fit in with work (that's if DS agrees!)
Are you expressing so someone will feed your LO when you're at work or supplementing with formula?
Hope your day goes ok, and it will get easier I'm sure.

a mixture of both, as i have struggled to express. plus she is being weaned as well.
i'm so sad, i wish we could afford for me to stay home.

Try not to feel too sad. Why don't you see how you feel when you've been back at work a while? My OH says I should see how I feel after 3 months and then we are going to review the situation. We would struggle financially if I wasn't to work, but then again we've managed ok whilst I've been on unpaid Maternity leave. Things are tight and we haven't had many treats but its been great to be with my little fella at home.
    Wishing you all the best.

Ahhh bless ya! I'm sure everything will be fine. Are you working part-time or full time? I have a 4yo and a 2yo and work three days a week. Although financially it is a struggle, I wouldn't have it any other way as I still get to spend lots of quality time with the kids on the four days off. It also does me good to get out of the house and have adult conversation (and be able to finish a cup of tea!). 7 months off is great! With my 1st I had 3 months off and had to go back, and with my 2nd, well I was running my own business so worked until the day before I was induced (!) and went back for a few hours here and there within two weeks of the birth! If I hadn't have had a complication with the C-Section i might have been back earlier! Don't worry, i'm sure everything will work out just fine and you will get into the swing of things soon. Good luck!

I'm sure it won't be as bad as you envisage. Lots of luck for your first day.

:) I hope your day was not too bad.:)

I had to go back ( finances and all that!!) to work when my DD was 16 months old , belive me I was counting down the days when I still had 6 months to go.

I still hate my job ( don't we all eh !! ) but I just do my bit and come home, I don't slog my guts like I used to ( for no extra thanks ) and I appreciate my time off more now with my DD than I did before ~ I do more with her now as I haven't always got that 'tomorrow' to put things off until.

well i finished work at 9pm (i work in a supermarket pharmacy) and it was horrible, i only did 6 hours and it dragged sooo much. i will be working 15 hours over 3 days so not too bad (i hope)
i managed not to cry but i felt like it.
the personell manager never came over to see how i was, it makes me wonder why i bother, plus i submitted my holiday request for the year in january and my manager has given them to someone else so i am most peed off and he will get a piece of my mind on friday.
