My favourite dog has died....

I'm a professional petsitter and one of my regular clients, a lovely ginger Dogue de Bordeaux, has died suddenly from intestinal torsion. She was out playing with her best friend, a boxer, and collapsed. By the time the vet had opened her up, her spleen had ruptured too. :( She was only four years old.

I was not looking after her at the time (thank goodness), she was out with her owner.

But I'm very sad. RIP Dogue.

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton

  • so sorry for your loss. A dogs death leaves such a big hole in your life. At least you know you loved her and she you for the time you were together. Make sure you have a good cry. From experience I know the pain will gradually lessen, take care of yourself.
  • I didn't think a dog that didn't even belong to me would matter so much. But she was such a character, a gentle giant, she adored my husband and always gave him her toys to play with. We have looked after her several times this year, for one-two weeks each time.

At least we have some lovely pictures and good memories.
