Redundant soon what benefits am I entitled to?

I am redundant from my job as of the 6th December and know nothing about what benefits I may be entitled to. I have a 9 month old baby and my notice period at work runs into my maternity leave.
I already receive child benefit and have made an enquiry about Tax credit.
I used to be n a good income which meant I was not entitled to anything but from the 6th December my husband and I are only earning approx 14000 per year as I willnot be working.
Help??? Its been years since I have to claim anything and I am a bit confused.
