DLA for DS2 - yippee

Just thought I'd shine a ray of sunshine to show that some things are still positive.
I've just checked the bank a/c and seen an unidentified payment go in to the pot that usually only received child benefit. £598! Which IS (I phoned to check) the first DLA payment as I gave that number to them when I sent in the application less than 2 weeks ago.
Possibly it was influenced by the fact there was so much evidence included that the postage for the application left us short for food that week but worth every penny.
(DS2 has severe language delay, severe sensory modulation disorder, sensory processing dysfunction, probable ASD and ADHD and other niggles...)
Thank you DWP for getting something right. I can afford to replace the fridge now
(Irony or coincidence? My renewal pack arrived a week after his was sent so I'm doing DLA forms back to back - deep joy.)

Nice to hear good news, don't forget to let CTC know about the DLA award as a diability or severe disability element may now be payable.0

Oh, didn't realise it might make a difference to CTC, should I tell Housing and ESA as well? Have to admit I'm slacking at telling SS - they grab so much under the 'fairer' charging policy that I've not been able to afford to get essential things done like keeping the garden under control - I've waited 3 years for contact details for the "loads" of volunteers they claimed would be willing to do it for free... Thankfully the LL has had enough now and complained!Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants - Michael Pollan
