Hello, i wonder if i could ask for some advice please.
My husband and I had a Mortgage with Preferred, which we paid off 4 years ago.
When we took out the mortgage we were told by the mortgage broker we had to take out the PPI or preferred wouldn't give us the mortgage as i was self employed at the time.
I wrote to acenden asking for a copy of my credit agreement, sent with the £10.00 fee they said i had to pay. (they have cashed the cheque)
I got a letter back from them today saying "my mortgage account is unavailable".
After a phone call, i was informed basically they couldn't find it
I'm now at a loss of what to do, ?
can any of you guys advise me please on my next steps, or isn't there any ?

That was a waste of £10. The lender has no liability here. The bulk of the paperwork is with the broker. The broker has the liability.I'm now at a loss of what to do, ?
If the mortgage was bought before January 2005 then give up. Most brokers did not become regulated until then and do not have to consider pre 2005 sales being complained about. If it is post 2005 then complain to the broker. However, your complaint reason is weak and unprovable. Have you got anything a bit stronger? As it stands it is just an allegation which you cant prove.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only.
