i must be cheapskate of the century lol i am having a baby in 3 months heres what it has cost me so far lol,
cot £3 at a chruch car boot sale
baby walker £3 car boot sale
baby car seat £2 car boot sale
baby bath and changing mat and potty set £1 car boot sale
high chair £4 car boot sale
baby rockin chair free from a friend
clothes vests babygros free from family
total cost so far £13
some peoplemay think im mean but at the end of the day,i dont see the point in spending hundreds of pounds for something that wont be used very long,i also forgot to mention i have loads of toys given to me from an anut,at this rate it wont be costing very much lol,am also collecting pigsback boots vouchers for nappies, this is my 4th child id never have dreamed of doing it with my 1st but i think when youve had more than one you tend to spend as less as u can lol.

    No - never mean! Astute!!!!

I completely agree - just had my fourth and although I did not spend as little as you, things like all her clothes came from Ebay (completely kitted to 6months and spent about £30!)

You keep going! There are better things to spend money on (like chip and chocolate cravings!!)

Oh well done to you!! :T So much money is wasted on buying items that if bought 2nd hand and in good condition, can be 'spit and polished' to look good! Babies grow sooo quickly and before you know it, you are needing to get rid of stuff you paid a fortune for!

    so far
cot and pram/pushchair free from Freecycle
car seat, moses basket, some cloth nappies, clothes, baby bouncer, baby gym from friend
new babygrows etc pressie from friend

I'm all for reusing and getting what you can for free or next to nowt :T

just a safety note though - cot and moses basket mattresses should be replaced as there is an increased risk of cot death associated with second hand mattresses (kiddicare do cheap new mattresses) and know the provenance of any second hand car seat, if you don't know for SURE that it's not been in a car crash then don't use it.
