Sky TV package. Fraudulent mis-selling

I recently moved house and found no TV aeriel in the main "playroom" where I will spend all my days with my baby. I got BT installed, and wanted to get some sort of TV in the playroom. In a few months I will take my custom to the Utility warehouse for my phone line and broadband, so wanted a short contract broadband provider. Virgin said they had 12 month min contract, so I ruled them out. I called Sky told them of my position and was advised of the surf, speak, see £26 package. I was also told they could do a minimum term of 3 months, as I had asked for. I repeatedly checked the minimum term and the "advisor" confirmed each time it was 3 months minimum. I was recording this phone call, as I do with all companies. I took it.
A couple of weeks later my TV was installed, but no router for my broadband, nor confermation of sky talk. I called up and was told the bb had not been ordered, and anyway it was a 12 month contract, as was my TV. I argued that I'd been told when ordering it was a 3 month contract and i had recored the conversation so could prove it. no joy. I was also now being charged the full TV price of £21 per month. I would never pay this normally, the bb connection is far more valuable than the tv, and I had no bb.
after many weeks of calling, writing, getting consumer direct and then trading standards involved, Sky have now cut off my TV service, not even leaving the free channels that you normally get, thus leaving me without TV all day for me and my baby.
How can sky get away with blatently lieing to get a contract, then refusing to deliver what they promise, and also how can trading standards not want to follow up on them for their breach of contract.
I've now had nearly 3 months without broadband, an overpriced TV service, and am now left with no tv service.

What reason have TS given for not being willing to follow up on your complaint?Gone ... or have I?0 -
I,ve just read the terms and conditions and it is a 12 month contract afraid you,ve been give incorrect information on the telephone as I myself have been told contradicting information every time I ring.Even though the calls are recorded a supervisor would just come on and apologize and offer to send a recording of calls.Plenty of tv,s around have a built in arial or you can buy a portable ariel to plug in the TV.Sky also have lower priced packages with a couple of mixes the one they put you on with 6 mixes is £21.It appears the person you spoke to has not done his job properly.I was on the phone for weeks on and off trying to sort things out was tearing my hair out.I hope you get something sorted out for you and your baby. good luck0

yes. and it would be inadmissable I think. My signature has been removed by the authorities. If you have been affected by the issues raised in this signature, please contact the Action Line on 1-800-THEY-NICKED-MY-SIG.0 -
Anyway, if and when you manage to speak to a manager with a brain at Sky, your recording will prove that you are in the right.
I would just say, if you care about customer service then please keep clear of Utility Warehouse. I used them (briefly) and they were a nightmare! I now buy my Energy from Ebico, and managed to negotiate a very good deal for telephone, broadband and TV from Virgin (I pay 20 pounds per month for all three). I am very happy with their product, although their customer service is non-existent.0 -

I was always critical of NTLs "customer service" in the past , but I've found they have been getting better esp. after the VM name change . Cant beat the services though esp the V+ box and cable broadband .0 -

It is not illegal to record telephone calls.
The grey area is what you can do with the recording afterwards.I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0
