Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
Most of the solutions that have been around for a while are fine for villages but so many farms and cottages are isolated and not part of a community - these are where the problems occur, and distance from an exchange is usually the reason. I only have bb because I nagged till they were fed up of me and it still took 2 days, three engineers camped out for the duration, several vans and millions of trips back and forth to the exchange (by aforementioned vans, not me!) to have it put on for one isolated cottage. I'm still not clear why I merited all this attention but I'm very grateful!

But all credit to BT, they did it and I have no problems with it ever (Plusnet) but there must be a more cost-effective solution than this.

A half decent mobile phone signal would help - but don't even get me started on that one!! 4G? We're lucky to get 1G standing on top of a hill in the rain waving our phones around in the air!

But you're right, it's a lovely place to live and I wouldn't live in London for all the G in the world. I'm planning on coming to Anglesey early in the Spring - recommend me a campsite?
  • Loads of campsites here just PM me and tell me if it's quiet site you want or a family orientated one Inland or on the coast etc
I think the surest sign that intelligent life exists elsewhere in the universe is that none of it has tried to contact us.
  • 'The government has pledged to connect everyone to speeds of at least 2Mbps by 2015'

We are lucky sometimes to achieve 0.5 Mbps but we have been told that fibre will not be here until 2020 and there is no way the current ADSL will be able to achieve 2Mbps. They only seem interested giving people who have access to fast broadband even faster broadband.
Nothing to see here, move along.
