Do you use a car wash with a wax programme?
Just a thought..... it could be the wax left on the screen that causes the smearing with certain types of screenwash?0 -

Thanks for the idea, but no. Living where I am, the only car wash worth doing at this time of year is a quick whip round with the hose, because the lanes are all covered in mud from recent harvesting & ploughing.
You know those guys in the supermarket car parks who wait, bucket and sponge in hand? Well, they usually can't see me at all! :rotfl:0 -

I thought it was good so I bought another one and after starting using it have had problems with wipers smearing. Using it at about 50:50 with water as there has been some frost in the mornings. I was not happy with the smearing so did a google search to see if anyone else had the same problem and found this post, don't know what they have done with the formula but it is rubbish now.
This is the bright pink fluorescent stuff, but ready mixed.
Thanks for your input.0 -

Agree 100% - the Lidl -60ºC winter screen wash concentrate is simply superb. And only £6 for 5 litres.
I use it 50/50 with water, since I don't expect the temperature to drop below -30ºC this winter."Retail is for suckers"

I use Halfords own yellow screenwash the one you mix and used it for 2 years with no problems at all. I do regularly clean the windscreen with a good quality screen cleaner and do wipers. I have recently bought autoglym screenwash around £3 a small 500ml bottle is strong concentrate but as yet have not used it as I still have plenty of Halfords stuff0

Good to know.....
When I lived in Norway you could get good winter screenwash everywhere from service stations to supermarkets! Here I seem to have difficulties ... Lidl seems the best bet!0 -

This is why I mix 70%, for anyone that's wondering.
Fleet give it a quick pressure wash/hoover every few days, and 70% cuts through more easily than 50/50.
I'm also planning to take the car to Tallinn, and possibly St Petersburg for New Year, so it's going to get cold!
