Worth claiming on insurance??

Hi
Our darling 5 year old sprayed our 6 month old LCD TV with his water pistol and the repair shop have said it will cost £370 to fix. Our house contents insurance with LV includes home entertainment items as standard (we did not take out accidental cover - generally prefer to take the risk as we have had children for over 11 years now and never had to make a claim for anything).
We also set our excess quite high (£250), again, just trying to keep the premiums down. Our strategy has been paying off......until now!
We could pay the £250 excess, LV cover the rest of bill and get our 'good' TV back (a new one same spec would cost around £450-£500) - but we are worried what this will do to our premium next year.....?
Or we could just get a cheaper brand - for around £250-£300....? I guess my question is, 'Is the insurance premium likely to go up by £250 as a result of this claim?' Our last premium was about £260 for buildings & contents combined.
Any thoughts would help us decide - thanks!

My opinion only...........
Forget the insurance claim & go out & buy a new cheap TV.
It's just not worth claiming on you insurance.
You can get a good TV for little money these days.0 -
Try a dummy quote, with and without a claim for £120, to see what difference it would make.
Use false, but reasonably accurate, details.
Having one claim on your record shouldn't make too much difference but 2 or 3 might. I wouldn't use one of these for the sake of £120.0
