You can convert it if you save it as a WMV formatted file for example, with something like:

    http://www.!!!!!.com/!!!!!-video-converter/

If you save it as a project file you will need to save it as a proper file on disk (i.e. hard drive - WMV for example) before converting it into MP4. Windows Live Movie Maker has an option to save (upload) to YouTube too. Look at the FILE menu for more info on how it can save, in which format.

In Windows Live Movie Maker it will only let me save it as a movie maker project file.

I just add a video too it and have added a few captions and I'm just trying too save it as an MP4 file?

If you have an AVI movie imported in WLM, record a live stream from a camera or open an existing project you can save to MP4:

    1) FILE menu
    2) SAVE MOVIE.... (sub-menu)
    3) ....FOR COMPUTER (menu-item)
    4) MyMovie.mp4 (save in the folder/file requester that appears - change its filename if need be)
    5) MyMovie.mp4 is now on your computer in the folder you selected with the folder/file requester.
