18 yr old son, receiving DLA & working p/t ...is he better off claiming IS?

Hi,
My 18 yr old son receives DLA for arthritis. He is a full time student and also works 7 hours a week.
He receives EMA too.
Is he able to also claim Income Support? Can he only claim this if he gives up his job?
We receive Tax Credits - if he receives Income Support, will this reduce our allowance?
I find this quite confusing --- anybody got any personal experience or advice?
Thanks
