Am I being reasonable

I had some items up for auction on ebay, some didn't sell, day after the he auction had ended someone contacted me to say they meant to bid on one of the items but forgot and would I do buy it now, I agreed to this and relisted as buy it now on ebay, let the person know and sent her a link to the auction. However she then didn't buy the item, the buy it now auction has now ended, so I have chosen to block this bidder is that harsh ?

  • Not at all, sounds perfectly reasonable to me
  • They 'forgot' to bid on the original auction. They then either forgot or couldn't be bothered to buy it when you relisted as BIN, so this would suggest to me that they could potentially be a problem buyer and I think you're perfectly entitled to add them to your blocked bidder list.

    So, not harsh at all.

You should see my block list! I wouldn't worry about it! Annoying that they get you to relist though!!

Yes was annying that they got me to relist, did wonder if they were after me selling it outside of ebay, but couldn't see how this would benefit them, and have read enough on here to see how that could cause me problems.

Thanks for the replies I so feel better about blocking now. :)

Something similar happened to me once but as a buyer. I'd seen a jumper £3.99 start bid, watched it and it was ended by the seller. I messaged seller and asked what had happened as I'd got a bid waiting to go on, she said it had been ended 'acidentally' and she'd relist on a BIN for me. The BIN she set? £9.99 greedy mare.

Needless to say I didn't bid, but I watched and waited and a week later when it went back to general auction I won it with my other account for the £3.99 start :D

That's a very greedy thing to do, I'm glad to hear you got it for a sensible price in the end (BTW I just relisted it at the same price :)).
