How do I put films on my daughter's Nexus 7?

Hi,
I bought a Nexus 7 (32GB) for my daughter's birthday last week.
It is a great tablet but I would like to know if I can put some films on it so she can watch them on a school trip next week.
The idea would be to use the dvd's we already have in the house rather than buying new ones.
I have looked at the Google Play site but that appears to only stream films and you have 30 days to watch then on Wifi and only 48hours to finish once you start!
Clearly, that wil not be any good for her coach trip.
Can you please help?
Best wishes

Use DVD Shrink to Rip the DVD.0

They are starting to let you "buy" movies on Google Play rather than rent but it's hit and miss as to the types of movies you can buy.
Other than that any program that can shrink a DVD to a MP4 or AVI will do. The Movie app will find it where ever you save the movie in "sdcard".Laters
