I haven't had a cheque in years but received one yesterday. If I put it in my Halifax account how long will it take to clear? I've tried googling and looking on the Halifax site but it's safe to say I'm a rubbish searcher lol
Thanks x

I think it varies depending on the account you pay it into. Current accounts follow the 2-4-6 rule, but savings acounts used to take longer0

3 to 5 working days it, its all in your account terms and conditions!!!Time is a path from the past to the future and back again. The present is the crossroads of both. :cool:0 -
4 working days, not including day of deposit. i.e. if you deposit it at the counter on a monday, funds are available on the friday.''Before you diagnose yourself with depression or low self-esteem, first make sure that you are not, in fact, just surrounded by a$$holes.'' :whistle:0

The 2-4-6 rule has been in place for five years and still most people don't seem to be aware of it. Basically, allow six working days as it's only after that that you can be guaranteed the cheque won't bounce (unless you've been involved in fraud).

You can withdraw on it after 4 working days from it being credited to your account, however if you are uncertain of the true fate allow 6 working days for clearance.0
