Insulate your outside tap

HI all
I just thought I'd mention that it is a good idea to insulate your outside tap as I have seen the effect of torrents of water running through the house of someone who didn't

I did mine yesterday with bubble wrap and cable ties and it took minutes

Or if yer posh ... DIY stores sell custom-made little posing pouches for them
You never know how far-reaching something good, that you may do or say today, may affect the lives of others tomorrow

    Turn it off inside the house, drain & leaving the tap open during the winter so there is no water in it.
    Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.

    But I've got 15 of them!!!! :eek::eek::eek:

    (Which is why I shut the whole lot down as soon as the weather turns nasty.)

    However, as Meadows says, it's essential to drain the system down outside, and if the person who organised it in the first place is as daft as the one who did mine, you may still be unsafe. My shut off is in the garage on an outside wall, which has gone down to -8 C in extreme conditions, so I have a back-up heater in there just in case. ;)
