How to sell UK shares?

I have a small holding in a UK FTSE100 company that I'd like to sell. However, I live in the US and the broker suggested by the company will only deal with UK residents.
Does anyone know how I can sell my shares? I've never sold before, and I want to keep the proceeds in the UK.
