Bankruptcy question for finance/insurance

Hi,

i am looking into changing bank accounts as my nearest Natwest branch is 20 miles and I want to be able to bank face to face. Having had a DRO when they ask whether I have been made bankrupt how do I answer? Is a DRO bankruptcy? Thanks

    Hello there.

A DRO isn't bankruptcy although there are similarities. You may be able asked on your application if you have ever been 'insolvent' - which you would need to answer 'yes'.

That said, it seems to be far easier to move banks if you've had a DRO, especially if the DRO is now finished. So long as you request a 'basic' bank account you shouldn't encounter too many difficulties.

    Best wishes,

    David @ NDL.
