What happens if you right-click on it (in Windows) and choose "Format..."?0

You will get 2 options
Exfat or ntfs. I have had this problem and never found an answer.

Have you used that? Can you specifically recommend it? (I saw it also from my search, but can't comment on it personally hence why I didn't suggest it).0 -
Start then type run in the box then type cmd in to the box then format /FS:FAT32 X: Change the letter X to the drive you want to format0

My Windows 7 PC gives me NTFS, FAT, FAT32, exFAT for a 1 GB dive, but only NTFS & exFAT for a 40 GB one.0

NiftyDigits recommended a great bit of software! I have a Samsung note n7000 phone with a 64gb sd card. The only way to get android to recognise a 64gb card is to us the above software on an SD card, or start downloading various os plugins:(
NTFS is Microsoft proprietary, so not supported as standard. Ex-fat another Microsoft proprietary standard. Think these are the only 2 offered on my windows 7 box.0 -
