I think when she says 'with 'our' cat, she is referring to the cat that belongs to her, and her children.....

I know, I was just referring to this new system where "singletons" (urgh!) is a separate board from "mums & dads".

What's the point? A single person can be anyone between 16 and 106.

Well what a mess! I'm single and I guess that impacts on my MSE financial interests. But my kids stay with me part time. I also take in lodgers so live with strangers. And I have a pet bearded dragon.

I really don't like this segregation and if it is because of advertising/target audiences I think I'll find other forums to hang out on.

I don't like "wading through" the TTC (don't even know what that stands for) and miscarriage threads as someone else mentioned.

However, I don't frequent the pet boards either. There are some crazy opinions over there. One thread is entitled "My baby has died" or something similar. How insensitive when it comes up under the family threads. It was actually the woman's dog which she didn't have on a lead had been run over by a car. I have had real babies die but I would never post that as a heading!

All in all, no one likes change but this is rubbish.

I can't answer, I'm moving this week. So, sometime in the next 10-14 days I'll be "flying solo", having had 8 addresses this year.... and my stuff's had about 4 addresses (separate to me) .... and I'll be moving to an empty place, devoid of furniture/white goods.... so I'll be roughing it for awhile until I can find cheap/free stuff to sit/sleep on .... and store food in .... and wash my clothes etcin. Bl00dy pricey that stuff is!!

F*ck knows! It's just been stated on another thread that someone sees singletons as those who are single without kids.

That's because singletons aren't interested in tales of snot-nosed brats :)

I saw that and have done everything in my power to resist posting how offensive that title is.
If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.

But we're 'singletons' because we aren't in a couple! And not everything we talk about specifically relates to be a parent so it shouldn't be on the mums, dads, grandparents et al board!

Singleton (lifestyle), a self-description of individuals without romantic partners, particularly applied to women in their thirties introduced in the novel and film Bridget Jones's Diary
