washing machine problem

Hi, can anyone help me please? I have a Servis Caress 1500 A washing machine which is about five years old. It desperately needs the rubber door seal to be removed and thoroughly cleaned but I can't get it off. All my other machines have been easy to do but this one appears to be attached (welded?!?! ) to the actual drum! The spring clip on the front removes easily but then I'm (and it) is stuck:mad: . If anyone has one of these machines and knows a way round this problem, please let me know...I'd be ever so grateful! Thanks in advance.

When you say spring clip, do you mean a plastic type clip on the front?

You will also prob have a metal coil spring thing as well. Often on the machine the rubber seal has a tab (lug) on it near the top. You need to pull downwards on this (quite hard) to remove the coil. Be warned however that its pretty hard to put back. Took me and my Dad joint effort to get it back on.

Bit like sticking a bicycle tire back on over the rim.
