I and my family have also been the very grateful recipients of both donated meals and food parcels - the Salvtion Army Christmas hampers always a particular demonstration of folks' good hearts because in amongst the cans of soup and beans and carrots (usually lots of cans of carrots ), there was always a Christmas pudding and a box of "posh" chocolates and a tin of biscuits. And often some extra treats for the kids. Don't underestimate how much of a lift this can bring into some households at Christmas. I still have the red boxes as a reminder.

It is very easy to be cynical, but the reality is that those peeps who donate really do make a difference and making a difference no matter how big or how small is what matters.

I'm sure many good and generous folks donate to the sally army/food banks/homeless charities but lets not kid ourselves that those clearing the shelves of every glitch on here are doing it for charity....they have only one person in mind....

Really really wish I could buy some wine!!! But I have still got 6 bottles left from last time and baby is not due to end of April so not buying ne just hope something good comes up then, I really get jealous of my partner drinking it all otherwise .

Yep, the fun and games have restarted, however, apart from my initial misdemenour, thankfully nobody else seems to have reacted yet. Let us keep it that way as the thread has been in a lovely place recently and we all don't want it to go back to the way it was. Unfortunately, there are two of the old protagonists on here tonight who should be ignored completely.
