Tell me your Christmas FOOD list! :D

Hi all
I do a weekly shop on a Friday and by my calculations there are five left before the BIG DAY...so I plan to eat cheaply (store cupboard, run down the freezer) between now and then so we can spread the cost of the special Christmassy food over the five shops.
I have already brought the frozen turkey crown and have been slowly stocking up on bubbly when I see a good offer (we intend to drink a LOT of fizz over the Christmas period
)
I want to make a really comprehensive list of all the food and drink we would like over the festive period, so I can look out for offers and start picking up the bits that will keep/freeze. But beyond 'turkey and champagne' (:rotfl:) I seem to be drawing a blank, or at least not being able to solidify my ideas into a proper list!
So......if money was no object (i.e, you would be able to pick things up on offer etc and would be able to pretty much afford what you wanted) what food and drink would you like to have in the house over the Christmas period?
This is kind of the opposite of the 'What won't you be buying this year?' thread! :rotfl:
Thanks in advance! Excited!

BF is cooking Christmas dinner for me and DS 21 as I'll be working part of the day so we had a conversation about what our traditions are -it seems everyone has certain "wouldn't be Christmas without" foods-so far the list has
Turkey (DUH)
Ham joint
Brussel sprouts
Parsnips
Yorkshires (new one to him but a tradition for us)
Stilton
Prawn cocktail (his tradition)
Christmas pud and brandy butter -me only neither of them like it
someotherpud
really good bread (for the turkey sandwiches)
lots of cranberry sauce
stuffing without pork
stollen
big tin of quality street
big tin of Roses
Baileys (that's mine)
bacon wrapped sausages
bacon wrapped cheese
proper cheese board
digestives and butter for the stilton
I'm sure there's lots more but that is what we started with last night.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
MSE Florida wedding .....no problem0 -

I love cooking and always looking for new things to try. I did a family BBQ for my mums birthday back in September and all the food went down really well. Here are some of my favorites:
For starters or nibbles whilst the BBQ was cooking I had these ready on the tables for when guests arrived.

I also did the fresh salsa did with the Naan Dippers.
These were also a particular favorite

I must admit, I don't go daft with the christmas food. I buy the turkey and all the trimmings and few bits and pieces extra, but just think the shops are only closed a couple of days, so can pop to the local shops if I need anything.0

Yay Christmas food!!!
I think I'd wait and see what the shops have before deciding exactly what I'd buy e.g. last year we got an amazing prepared salmon from M&S and would definitely get it again if they do it this year.
In the meantime Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without;
Turkey
Carrots
Roast Potatoes
Green veg of some sort but not sprouts
Gravy
Ham/Gammon joint
Stuffing
Bacon - to go on the turkey and wrap round the sausages
Sweet potatoes - always have sweet potato mash with marshmallows on top
Peas - to make creamed peas in patty shells (not sure where this tradition has come from, we just always have them)
Party food/canapes/nibbles
Stollen
Christmas cake (if I haven't made one, otherwise the ingredients for one)
Mince pies (or ingredients)
Lebkuchen
Christmas pudding
Cheese board
Crackers for cheese
Satsumas - smell of Christmas to me
Other fruit
Chocolate!
Beer
Cider
Wine
Champagne
Southern Comfort (for Mum)
Brandy (for Dad and to go in the cake/on the pudding)
Baileys (for me!)
Amaretto (also for me)
Whiskey (for OH)
Fizzy drinks/mixers
How's that for starters?Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger No. 26 :hello:XStitch to do list:-- Birth Sampler -- Christmas Angel -- Mum's Xmas Stitch -- Christmas decs 3 & 4 -- Xmas Bird ---- Snowflake Sonata -- Be Jolly -- JE Unicorn -- Start HAED!!! --0 -
