Just want to check that this Gumtree seller looks legit...

Hi all
Addmitedly, I am a little cautious with Gumtree at the moment having recently nearly been scammed (as a buyer).
This time - as a seller - I want to make sure nothing scam-like happens. Basically, I posted an ad for a camera I am a selling yesterday.
I received a reply very quickly saying only:
"have interest on ur camera, send me ur email ? From: nteu"
I repsonded with my email address, and have received another email today to that address saying:
"Hi,
I'll add additional £10 next day delivery via royal mail, send me paypal invoice to: ???????????.co.uk or through bank transfer i can pay in the money.
Regards"
Does it all sound ok? Anything I need to be wary of? Apologies in advance if I am being over cautious but better safe than sorry!
Cheers
Max

seems ok to me but make sure you send the camera recorded delivery0

Thanks for the replies.
The camera is £150 odd so yeah, definitely recorded delivery.... Good advice.
As for payment, is paypal or bank transfer the better option? And is one safer than the other? Once I'm paid, is there any way they can take the money back after receiving the camera?
Thanks again

Listen to custardy and re read the insurance on the RM services. recorded is a *very* bad idea here.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I had an almost identical reply yesterday
"i have interest on ur camera, send me ur email ?
From: nteu"
I tend to ignore vague emails that don't refer to the exact thing I'm selling (says scammer to me), so ignored this one too. It doesn't add to the "buyer"'s credibility that they don't ask any questions about your camera.
If you do proceed, do let us know how you got on. And, as per Custardy's and Soolin's posts, do send by Special Delivery, NOT Recorded (see the numerous posts on this board as to why)...0 -
I agree It does seem rather generic and my only other concern would be a fake 'you have funds' emailI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Hardly legit.
What kind of name is "nteu"?0 -
Reminds me of a chargeback scam I read about...I wouldn't sell to this character.0

I will gurentee you now that when you say paypal he will send you a fake email that says you need to send the camara first as paypal are holding the money ect and if you pick bank transfer you will get a fake email saying the bank is holding your money ect.
Make sure you check your paypal first and check in your recent history if its a fake email there will be nothing and same with your bank,
Thid scam is all over Gumtree so make sure you dont send it before reciving the money first0
