breakdown of bank charges

hi, i am just about to do the money claim online to claim charges from the halifax totaling £1868. when i sent my letters to the halifax i sent a list of dates and charge amounts to my account. is this enough or should i have sent a list with the reasons for the charges ? i only received the statements for the past 6 years so the reasons for the charges i am unsure of exactly. i just don't want to send my moneyclaim things off only to be told the letters i sent originally do not have enough info on. can anyone help??
the last letter i received from halifax was to say further to their earlier letter they would respond to my concerns by the middle of may.Has anyone else been to this stage who can offer any advice??!!

At this stage it should be fine not to be so detailed about the charges apart from the date and amount. If there is any dispute as to the nature of an exact charge they will query it stating why. It is common for some banks to use solicitors who request a list of the charges and you can be more detailed at that stage, if it happens. You only need to know the type of charge, if it is reclaimable and not the reason why it was applied to account.

You dont need to stick to their timescales and can follow those laid out in the main article. Your next step now is to send the letter before action (LBA). Good luck :)
