Carpets not cleaned on moving in - do we need to clean to move out?

  • How does that sit with pets though? The whole house is a lot cleaner than when we moved in! And we'll give it a good days cleaning before we move out, but I would prefer to leave the carpets as they are and to me that seems fair.
  • Could you not meet them halfway and hire a well known carpet cleaner ( R Doctor) it's only about £20 and do it yourself? Would cost a lot less than getting someone in and it would shut them up? LL didn't have them professionally cleaned so why should you, i think its a fair compromise x

It's not about the whole house, it's about the individual elements unfortunately. "Deep cleaning would be required to remove any allergenic dander tho." Note that deep cleaning does not have to be a professional or even necessarily a wet clean.

  • Yay they have been sensible for the first time in our dealings with them :D The landlord agreed they hadn't done them so the LA said we didn't need to. And I have it in writing incase they try anything silly on checkout.:T
