There was a watchdog program about this very thing a couple of years ago King's Lynn Mobile Home Park was taken over by father and son Colin and James Crickmore and Maurice Sines. Who then preceded to intimidate and harass the occupiers according to the residents.

Not sure what happened but they would still seem to be in business with several park home sites

Thanks for your help everyone. My grandparents have now been offered a bungalow by the council so i think they are just going to take that. They just don’t need the stress at their age, and we'd all rather them be happy than worry about the inheritance (On that sight the mobile home was worth 80 000) we are not giving up though. My mom is moving in and is going to try and get some sort of settlement for them, so they can at least pay off a couple of depts. I’m going to contact graham watts today (unless my mom already has) and find out exactly what their rights are, so thanks for that Clutton. We are worried now as he can charge them for having to move the caravan, and disconnect it and stuff, money they just haven’t got, esp as they can no longer sell the only asset they have. In the end they couldn’t link the two men they caught starting the fire with the owner, even though they were driving his car. They are been charged but his lose again to get some more of his goons to do his dirty work. Thanks again everyone and I will keep you all updated0

Yes, I'm glad your grandparents have been given a bungalow; they will feel safe - but let's hope justice still gets done for them and the other residents.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

A good friend of mine lives on a U.P.O. (unscrupulous park operator) site and has had to fight to remain undisturbed in a much loved home.
The U.P.O. bought the site 3 years ago and through well known tactics has encouraged the other owner residents to leave!
Expensive and luxurious new homes are now filling the park.
My friend is still there and will not give in to the many and ongoing pressures and has offered to help anyone in a similar position.
They are not alone, we know of other sites recently taken over by U.P.O.'s. They appear to be sweeping across the country and must be stopped.
Advice given in this thread about contacting Graham Watts and the various associations is a good place to start.
Is it possible to ask, where in the country does kay_fin's grandparents live?
I'm pleased to hear that this elderly couple have been housed, but what about the others? They must all be so worried.0 -
given its local election time i'm sure it woulnt be hard to get the local councilers to go on the record stating they woulnt be allowing any development on the site since i doubt many politicians want to see "councilers help arsonist evict oap's " headlines in the local rag.0

This man Sines is back! He's about to buy a park on the Isle of Wight and the home owners are terrified and taking legal advice. I've checked on this man and he is the director of many limited companies - seems he opens a new one for each venture. So I'd appreciate knowing the outcome of the case mentioned above.0

Age Concern has compiled a useful fact sheet for pensioners who live, or want to live, in park homes. This also outlines the legal rights of owners. It can be found at:

my parents live on the IOW site that he has just brought. he is already imposing rent hikes, told anyone with a home over 15 years old that they have to pay him 4 thousand to remove their home he is not allowed to sell it, told people they are not allowed to carry out improvements on their home and is already intimidating people and threatening to put travellers in the site.
again a residential sote with no kids and pets, all elderly people most old ladies on their own who are frightened out of their wits.
I was informed that he lost his trade license and surely therefore he has obtained the site illegally. a friedn who has studied law has said that if he has done the powers that be can annul the sale becasue it was illegal. does anybody know about this?
it seems like no matter what he does to people he is still allowed to get away with it.0 -

Get in touch with the local councilor, MP, paper & the council."Mrs. Pench, you've won the car contest, would you like a triumph spitfire or 3000 in cash?" He smiled.
Mrs. Pench took the money. "What will you do with it all? Not that it's any of my business," he giggled.
"I think I'll become an alcoholic," said Betty.0
