Cook meatballs in the tomato ones. Serve with anything but pasta if you ae trying to avoid it.
Huevos Rancheros (not that again Baggy!) is a good use for the tomato one too but expensive as you can easily make it with tinned toms for 1/2 the price.0 -
Add to mince to make a version of shepherd's pie?
ETA: That's assuming they're tomato-based. A cream one could possibly be used in a fish pie.Life is mainly froth and bubble

I don't know if you have childcare responsibilities but this is an easy meal/occupy-them time for small children.
Stick the oven on to warm up. Tie aprons on child(ren) and wash their hands.
Take 1 Jar of tomato based pasta sauce,
1 packet of muffins split in half (the savoury toastable sort),
a load of little bowls with things like frozen peas, tinned sweetcorn, chopped mushrooms, chopped peppers etc (whatever bits you need using up!)
a bowl of grated cheese
Show how to take a spoonful of sauce and spread it on half a muffin, followed by their selection of veg then grated cheese on top. Let them go for it!
Stick in the oven until cheese is melted and bubbling.
Even 2 yr olds can make their own mini-pizza lunch like this and if they like making pictures with the vegetables (and eating them raw as well) it can take quite a long time.
I used to find there was usually enough for me to cobble together the left-overs to make some mini-pizzas for my lunch as well.

Thank you so much for all the ideas, I'm not dreading the thought of using all 8 jars before Christmas now :-)
I made a take on Nikki's Chicken bake tonight using the leftover chicken from Sunday. I topped it with a mix of breadcrumbs and mozarella and it was gorgeous. Will be eating the remainder for lunch tomorrow :-D
Thanks again0 -
Get some ready made puff pastry, pour on some pasta sauce, and add toppings as if pizza.
Could also be used with mixed beans (kidney, butter, haricot, black eye etc) with a bit of chilli, mixed italian spices and serve with rice.0 -
as a base for Authentic 'Minestrone' soup? Selection of veg, jar of tomato based sauce and some broken strands of spaghetti or tiny pasta shapes. just simmer the veg in the sauce with about half the amount of water (or to taste) and for the last 15 mins chuck in the pasta! serve with some lovely foccacia bread - delish!0
