Afternoon all,
Please don't ask me how I discovered this but I have 8 jars of pasta sauce in my cupboard. Any ideas how I can use them that don't involve pasta or casseroles?

If you have any cream or white sauce based ones, you can make chicken/ham pies with them - bung in the ingredients, stir about a bit and then slap on a bit of ready-made pastry.
Tomato based ones could possibly be chillied up with extra onions, kidney beans, lots of chilli flakes and a bit of chocolate.
Strange question, but why not use them with pasta? Some days, it's just not worth chewing through the leather straps....

The tomato based one can be poured over chicken, topped with mozzarella and baked in the oven for a nice dish which can be served with rice or baked potatoes if pasta is out. This is one of our favourite "lazy meals".
You can also used the tomato based ones as pizza sauce.0 -
Just think of them as a creamy sauce or a tomatoey sauce. Use with pretty much any meat or veg and put in a pie, serve on a chicken breast, top a jacket potato etc.
The other night I got a portion of beef bolognese out of freezer (I can't eat a whole jarful on my own so make a big potful up with the mince and freeze a few extra portions) and added it to stir fried veggies and rice. It was really delicious. At the time I also thought that this would make a great stuffing for stuffed peppers.Cash not ash from January 2nd 2011: £2565.:j

Pizza topping! We have 2 favourite methods here - either a ready rolled sheet of puff pastry, slap on the pasta sauce and whatever toppings, then cook.
Or, french stick, and do exactly the same (we did this yesterday to use up half a jar I had in the fridge).0 -
definitely pizza toppings.
I also use them for a meatball sauce: smoosh up mince, grated onion, breadcrumbs & herbs, possibly an egg to bind, roll up into golf ball size spheres & brown in a frying pan. Plop in a oven proof dish, pour over pasta sauce & bake for 30-40 mins. I often serve with rice"Science is a wonderful thing if one does not have to earn one's living at it" Einstein 19510 -
I would use them as pizza sauce too! Sometimes if I am short on tomatoes for chili I will toss in a bottle of spaghetti sauce.0

Lentil soup, add tinned lentils I like tescos, dump in jar of tomato sauce, add same amount of chicken stock, I use Kallo organic, add garlic, chilli, cook for say 20 minutes but make sure ingredients have a chance to mature in the pan. when to liking enjoy!#TY[/B] Would be Qaulity MSE Challenge Queen.

With gnocchi, in a "Spanish" chicken & rice dish, in chicken wraps, as a base for ratatouille (yuck) to serve in a jacket spud, in a toasted sandwich with cheese, or chicken, or steak.A waist is a terrible thing to mind.0
