My son just got a PCN, the ticket was a photocopy not a printed document. The ticket had the BPA logo on it, on checking the company was not a member and not authorised to use the logo.
Further the website for the company indicated it was a registered SIA company checking withthem they are not registered either.
We have appealed the PCN which was given by a private company with the car parked outside the housing area parking zone on the public road.

Mind you, if he genuinely was on the public highway, then this cowboy company could get themselves into bother with local Trading Standards.0 -
Strange, I thought the parking/clamping part of the SIA had been discontinued as no longer required,I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

It has, that's why they wouldn't show up as a current SIA member as it's now irrelevant.
What a shame the OP seems to have willingly provided their name and address to a scammer, thinking there is some sort of appeals system! There will now be the usual threatograms which would never have arrived otherwise.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
